Peaceful Post Oak cemetery, a small former church that is now being used only as a Memory Chapel for funeral services, and historic marker are the only remnants of a formerly thriving Somervell County community that peaked in about the 1930s, before dying off. Post Oak was revived in the 1970s when the Comanche Peak Nuclear Project spurred families to move back to this community.
